Google Donates through Raspberry Pi Foundation
Google and Raspberry Pi
Google Giving Fund, the charitable arm of Google will be donating with the assistance of Raspberry Pi Foundation. Google Executive chairman, Eric Schmidt and Pi inventor Eben Upton were at Chesterton Community College in Cambridge teaching the kids coding lessons when they announced that they will be giving 15000 Rasberry Pi Model Bs to students all over UK.
“We hope that our new partnership with Google will be a significant moment in the development of computing education in the UK,” said Upton.
“We believe that this can turn around the year on year decline in the numbers and skill sets of students applying to learn computer science at university.”
InTouch Health and iRobot the RP-VITA Telemedicine Robots
The US Food and Drug Administration has accepted the implementation of the first telemedicine robot intended for remote doctor-to-patient diagnosis, Bedford,Mass.-based iRobot (IRBT) announced Thursday.The RP-Vita Remote PresenceRobot, built by iRobot and privately held InTouch Health, uses advanced telecommunications and autonomous navigation technology.
The FDA has approved the RP-Vita consultation for telemedicine in the field of cardiovascular, neurological, prenatal, psychological and critical care assessments and examinations. The robot can be utilized in emergency rooms for surgeries and patient supervision.
LEGO Competes with Arduino and Raspberry Pi
LEGO will now be competing with RaspberryPi and Arduino in the field of microcontrollers. LEGO has announced earlier that they will be using the LINUX firmware platform on their latest robots to reach out for more developers and programmers. LINUX users will now be able to use LEGO robots to control, build and teach.
