Overview

The RTC module is an ultra low power type and can be connected directly to a Raspberry PI. Although it is designed to be compatible with this development plaque, it can be adapted and used with other types of micro controller or plaques, such as Arduino.

RTC modules are generally useful to memorize date and time, providing backup solutions when the main power supply is cut off. Another advantage is that you do not have to do anything, just communicate with the circuit and read the clock from its registers.
