Overview

This small SD card slot breakout board allows you to add high capacity storage to almost any microcontroller project. It can be used with most of the microcontrollers (ARM, PIC, AVR, Arduino).

Specifications

  • Break out board for standard SD card and Micro SD (TF) card
  • Contains a switch to select the flash card slot
  • Sits directly on a Arduino
  • Also be used with other microcontrollers

Note1: The SD cards use 3.3 V signaling. Adequate precautions are necessary when using them in 5 V circuits.

Note2: For Arduino microcontrollers (5v devices):
(1)  Logic-level shifters are needed for MISO, SCK, MOSI, and CS connections (all 4).
(2)  The +5v and the +3.3v pins on the SD card reader/writer must be connected to Arduino's +5v and +3.3v sources, respectively.  Both connections are needed.
When the device is connected that way and both the Arduino SPI.h and SD.h libraries are #included in the sketch
